About the role
- Ours is a no ego culture of collaboration and innovation where those seeking their next challenge can find big opportunities and make a huge impact on the lives of all those who we protect.
- We're embracing a hybrid work model that enables our teams to split their time between office and home.
- Hybrid for us means we expect our teams to come together in our state-of-the-art office on two core days, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday - working together in person and choosing where they work for the remainder of the week.
Responsibilities
- Use AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code, to accelerate coding, testing, and debugging, and continually build your skill at working effectively alongside AI in your day-to-day engineering work.
- Design and build well-tested software components under the guidance of more senior engineers, growing your ability to deliver simple, reliable solutions at scale.
- Write and maintain automated tests so your code stays reliable and safe to change and refactor.
- Debug issues, fix bugs, and make incremental improvements to existing systems as you build context on how our services work.
- After an onboarding and ramp-up period, join the on-call rotation as a first responder for software owned by your team, with support and mentorship from more senior engineers.
- A solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
- Internship, co-op, research, or personal/open-source project experience building software.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or building/deploying cloud-based services.
- A mission- and values-driven culture and a safe, inclusive environment where you can build, grow and thrive
- Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that bring people together, give opportunities to network, mentor and develop, and advocate for change.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, completed or expected soon (or equivalent practical experience).
Compensation
- The target annual base pay range for this role is $75,100 to $100,100.
- This target annual base pay range represents our good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role.
- We use a market-based compensation approach to set our target annual base pay ranges and make adjustments annually.
Benefits
- A comprehensive total rewards package that supports your wellness and provides security for SimpliSafers and their families (For more information on our total rewards please click here )
