Requirements

  • Solid working knowledge of the DSM diagnostic guidelines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of community resources and ability to link individuals to appropriate resource.

  • Provide immediate mental health support, coordinate consumer care and use internal/external programs and outside community resources to ensure quality care to reduce engagement with Nashville emergency services.
  • Counselor will ride along in Fire Department SUV responding to primarily mental health calls for service but will also provide mental health support for the community in other calls for service.
  • A mental health professional with specialized training in crisis intervention with a minimum of a Master's degree in a related field (counseling, psychology or social work)
