About the role

  • As a Senior Fluids Analyst, you will be responsible for performing high-fidelity fluids analyses to ensure the performance and reliability of our SRM products.
  • Our ideal candidate is one proficient in both CFD as well as steady-state and transient 1D (lumped parameter) fluid modeling.
  • You will be exposed to all systems across our SRM products and the unique challenges each component presents.

Responsibilities

  • Build steady-state and transient 1D models of our SRM's fluid behavior.
  • Identify potential design improvements and collaborate with other engineering teams to develop our products while ensuring they meet our system-level requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, failure investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in fluids analysis of aerospace components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with solid rocket motors, propulsion systems, or high-temperature materials.
  • Experience with modeling of two-phase compressible flows.
  • Hands-on experience with testing and data correlation.
  • Experience with the ANSYS FEA suite, basic experience with 3D CAD software (NX is ideal), programming experience (Python ideal, but MATLAB or other high-level languages acceptable).

  • Classification: Full-time Exempt
  • Experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using commercial codes (ANSYS Fluent or CFX preferred, but knowledge of StarCCM+ or similar tools is welcome).
