About the role
- Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers is seeking an experienced Art Handler.
- Safe handling of objects, using appropriate methods of packing, loading and securing property for safe transport and storage
- Rotating works throughout the galleries and warehouses, including loading and unloading trucks
Responsibilities
- The Art Handler is responsible for warehouse and exhibition support including packing, collecting, delivering and transporting furniture and artwork in a safe, secure and timely manner.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role or related field
- Working knowledge of and experience with careful packing methods and safe moving practices
- Ability to work professionally and responsibly with all levels of staff and clients
- Ability to safely handle delicate items and lift up to 70 pounds
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while prioritizing safety and adhering to deadlines
- Dependable, consistent and punctual attendance required
- Ability to multitask
Nice to have
- Driver's license preferred, with a clean driving record and knowledge of NYC metro area
- CDL license a plus
