About the role

(ii) supporting the Company's growing operating fleet through disciplined, cost-effective purchasing and vendor management
and (iv) managing approximately $1.5 billion of Owner Supplied Equipment, including allocation to projects, drawdown planning, and disposition through third-party sales of equipment not designated for use.
Ensure competitive bids are obtained for purchase of capital equipment as well as service contracts and assure the pricing is consistent with established project budgets.

Responsibilities

Born in Texas in 2003, we own and operate over 30 utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects in local communities across the United States, totaling 4 gigawatts (GW) of generating capacity.
This role will build, lead, and optimize a high-performing procurement organization, including developing existing team members, and will work closely with Pre-Construction and Project Management and Operations teams to align equipment strategy with project design, schedule, costs, and logistics.
The Director will also lead the development and implementation of enhanced procurement processes and controls to ensure commercial integrity, risk management, and consistent execution across the enterprise.
This position manages the procurement function for all Leeward business units.
(iii) overseeing corporate procurement to drive cost savings through vendor consolidation, strategic sourcing, and negotiated rate structures
Support Pre-Construction and Legal teams to develop and maintain contacts and relationships with EPC Contractors in the renewable energy industry
Support Operations through timely and quality contracting for 30+ operating renewable facilities using Maximo to manage key work and inventory levels
Negotiate and maintain Corporate contracts in alignment with department stakeholders
Coordinate with Legal and Strategy teams to procure and manage assets in alignment with Company strategic initiatives related to Safe Harbor, IRA and PWA compliance.
Maintain understanding of the market including current pricing, commodity risks, and key terms and conditions provisions

Requirements

BS degree from an accredited university.
An advanced degree is desirable.
Demonstrated commercial acumen alongside knowledge of equipment and service supply contracts for major infrastructure projects and inherent contractual risks.
Must be capable of working and interacting harmoniously with various internal functional groups and individuals and maintaining effective communication throughout the organization.
Must have a successful record of dealing with and interacting with external contractors, vendors and project stakeholders.
Must have a demonstrable sense of urgency when faced with important procurement issues that impact the schedule and budgets of renewable projects.
Ability to travel as required to meet with service providers and counterparties.
Applicants must have current authorization to work for any employer in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for an employment visa now or in the future.
BS degree from an accredited university. An advanced degree is desirable.
A minimum of ten (10+) years in procurement and contract negotiations applicable to the construction of power generation facilities and/or transmission or electrical systems, including a minimum of five (5) years procurement experience applicable to renewables, or related field, and two (2) years in a leadership role.
Able to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced business environment.
