Responsibilities

  • We will develop critical foundational components of a novel approach for the regeneration of amputated limbs by transducing a specific population of autologous skeletal stem cells to induce a blastema-like state, followed by implantation at the amputation site to initiate regeneration of the missing limb.
  • Xu Yang for guidance on experimental design and research direction and will attend weekly laboratory meetings with Dr.
  • Continuously stand/walk to perform various biological experiments.
  • Design and execute experimental procedures and protocols involving cell and molecular biology techniques, tissue culture, histology, immunological assays, polarized and fluorescence microscopy, and animal models, including mouse breeding and genotyping.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records and databases of all laboratory work and experiments.
  • Apply standard scientific protocols to experiments; optimize and improve existing methods; and develop, establish, and validate new laboratory procedures.
  • Standardize and implement published procedures, evaluate innovative techniques, and develop new assays and protocols to support research objectives.
  • Maintain high assay performance and protocol reliability by conducting regular quality control and reproducibility assessments.
  • Maintain and monitor the proper use of laboratory equipment.

Requirements

  • Complete all required training related to laboratory activities in a timely manner, including C-14, animal use, hazardous materials handling, and laboratory safety training.

Nice to have

  • Five years of postgraduate research experience in basic science.
  • Standard research lab.
  • Category 1 Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials.

Skills

  • Expertise in mouse models of wound/fracture healing and/or skeletal stem/progenitor cell biology is highly desirable.

Compensation

  • The base pay scale for this position is $71,564.06 - $78,010.40.
  • The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.
  • The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
