- SUMMARY The Balancing Machinist 2nd shift is responsible for overseeing measurement and correction of imbalances in rotating components, including rotors, impellers and magnets.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance on machinery. Conduct routine inspection and request replacement of worn-out tooling as needed.
- Perform root cause analysis for machine part non-conformities; identify and implement corrective actions
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace. Perform daily 6S activities to ensure organization and cleanliness of work area.
- Perform necessary transactions in ERP system to maintain accurate inventory.
- Perform in-process inspection of machine parts to ensure manufacturing adherence to all quality requirements. Measure and check dimensions and tolerances using measuring devices, including (but not limited to) calipers.
Requirements
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Strong proficiency in basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals
- 1-2 years' experience in operating manual and/or balancing machinery and tooling
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- While performing duties of the job, employee is required to sit
- Required to wear safety glasses and shoes, and utilize other safety equipment as required while present on the production floor

- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- While performing duties of the job, employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
- Shop floor working environment
- 2nd shift hours (Mon-Thurs 4:30PM-3:00AM)
- 5% Differential pay on 2nd shift. Training may take place on 1st shift (no differential pay while on training shift).
Compensation
- The compensation range for this position is $36,600.00 - $55,000.00, depending on experience.
