About the role
- Our teams take on challenging projects that keep communities safe, supply chains moving, and the country connected.
- The Project Safety Manager will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety programs on heavy civil construction projects.
- This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for project personnel.
- Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to integrate safety into all phases of construction.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and records.
Requirements
- Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Must have a positive attitude and possess excellent motivational skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb.
- some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required
- ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Certifications such as CSP, CHST, or OSHA 30 are highly desirable.
- Highly knowledgeable in all aspects of civil construction.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
- Working Conditions
- Travel: This position is located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Construction Site Environment: Physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levels.
- Office Environment: Extensive sitting at desk and computer
Nice to have
- Five plus years of experience in a construction safety supervisorial role in heavy civil construction.
