About the role

  • This role will focus on executing a secure lift-and-shift migration of a complex SQL Server-based application with numerous interconnected system dependencies.
  • This individual will work in an Agile team environment and contribute to documentation, implementation, and operational sustainment efforts

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure within AWS GovCloud (US) environments Execute lift-and-shit migration of on-premises workloads, including SQL Server databases, application servers, dependent services and integrations Analyze and map application dependencies to ensure seamless migration and minimal downtime Implement cloud networking components (VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, NACLs) Configure and manage EC2, EBS, load balancers, IAM policies, and backup solutions Support high availability, backup, disaster recovery, and failover configuration Monitor system performance and troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues Apply security best practices aligned with federal compliance requirements Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation (architecture diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, migration plans) Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives)

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, strong troubleshooting skills, and a solid understanding of secure cloud environments support federal/government workloads.
