Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities are to perform, monitor, and mentor other biologists in performing automated and manual cell culture and related activities. Sets direction for workflows
  • drives optimization and innovation. Exercises expert judgment in designing experimental or production modifications and is responsible for high-level troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to the design and optimize organoid co-culture protocols to model the tumor and tissue microenvironments
  • maintain inventory control
  • Leads modification, refinement, and adaptation of techniques and procedures, partnering with engineers and other staff to define and implement large-scale improvements.
  • Lead the exchange of information through demonstration and instruction. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and interact with all individuals in a productive, professional, and positive manner to enhance the outcome of the goals of the research program.
  • Experience Required: 5 years
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Work collaboratively to perform all necessary protocols for organoid derivation, fibroblast expansion, iPSC expansion and QC, and differentiations on the robotic platform(s) or manually as required.
  • Experience with human/mammalian cell culture, 3D culture systems, and iPSC culture with additional broad expertise in cell and molecular biology techniques, is required. While not required, experience with liquid handling automation is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and improve biological workflows/processes, or have contributed to the development of automation/software tools.
  • Demonstrated ability in coordinating and performing multiple, concurrent assignments across highly complex workflows in multi-faceted projects.
  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Education Preferred: Master's Degree
  • Pay Range: $49163 - $82311 per year, depending upon experience
