About the role
- Prisma Health Richland Hospital Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit
- The Neurosurgical ICU is a 16-bed unit caring for critically ill patients with injury or disease to the nervous system.
- Common diagnoses of patients include post-op craniotomies or tumor resections, interventional radiology procedures, ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke including SAH, post TPA administration, brain tumor and AVM.
Responsibilities
- Develops an individual plan of care based on the age and assessed needs of the patient.
- Validates these with the patient and/or family.
- Performs specific tasks based on organizational, departmental and/or unit policies and procedures within the RN scope of practice.
Requirements
- Experience - One (1) year experience as a registered nurse.
- In lieu of one (1) year of registered nurse experience, will accept 1 year of licensed practical nurse (LPN) experience for internal candidates within the same service line.
- In lieu of Associate degree in nursing, will accept nursing diploma with licensure to practice as a registered nurse.
- Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
Skills
- Collects data and completes nursing assessment utilizing appropriate area and/or age specific standards/policies and tools.
