About the role
- The ideal candidate will be passionate about reviewing steel shop drawings, committed to continuous learning, and eager to contribute to exciting projects that make a real impact.
- Candidates will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects under the guidance of experienced engineers on structural steel connection projects.
- They will assist in the review of structural steel shop drawings and the organization and development of RFIs in conjunction with the Apex connection designer.
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibilities will include reviewing structural steel shop drawings with delegated steel connection design drawings.
- Typical projects would consist of steel connection design, miscellaneous steel design, and erection engineering.
- Review 3-D BIM models to aid in building design, connection design and shop drawing reviews.
- An advanced understanding of structural steel and the AISC Design Manual.
- Enthusiasm and desire to succeed and develop technical skills.
- Passion for steel design and growing professional knowledge and skills in steel and concrete construction.

Requirements
- 10+ years of structural steel detailing experience.
- Excellent communication skills are required, both verbal and written.

- Software skills with any of the following are a plus: Bluebeam and Trimble Connect.
