About the role

  • Otto Aerospace is seeking an Engineer, Metallic Materials and Processes to be a member of our team.
  • The ideal candidate has an interest in materials and processes and a willingness to learn.
  • Otto Aerospace is seeking engineers, who are comfortable working from first principles, work great in a team atmosphere and get things done.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on matters relating to metallic materials and process to the Design and Manufacturing teams during product development and operation including fasteners and hardware.
  • Provide guidance to the Design team regarding metallic material corrosion protection, heat treatment, coatings and finishes.
  • Support multi-disciplinary configuration development and trade studies.

Requirements

  • Must be able to stand on feet and walk around for extended periods of time, sit at desk for prolonged periods of time and work on computer, and m ust be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Knowledge of metallic material fabrication techniques, such as machining, welding and sheetmetal forming
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of industry standard materials and processes for metallic (required) and non-metallic (a plus) materials.

Skills

  • Focus on agenda, schedules, frameworks, and methodologies, as well as communicating tasks, updates, progress, and blockers.
  • Establish a collaborative culture where people with unique personalities and skills happily work together and accountable to shared goal.

Compensation

  • $20k-$25k
