About the role

  • This position will require the retention of certification records.
  • Assure that all outsourced calibration is traceable as per standards outlined by the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST).

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate, adjust, and maintain all measuring devices, gages and test equipment.
  • Collect and maintain calibration records electronically and in paper form (where applicable).
  • Perform audits and inspections of suppliers, manufacturing processes, final product.
  • Create NCR's and CAR's to communicate non-conforming product issue to the responsible people.
  • Help write, review, and implement quality procedures.
  • The Instrument Technician will also work with engineers and other technicians on basic design.
  • Provide consulting support and/or assist in gauging and calibration audits.
  • Identify and implement testing procedures for certified equipment.
  • Implement programs for collection of data to be analyzed for continuous ongoing quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Assist in other QA areas if required.

Skills

  • Experience in quality control or quality assurance inspection.
  • Experience in the electronic manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to inspect electronic PCBA's including soldering, potting and conformal coat requirements.
  • Ability to operate a Multimeter.
  • Understand NDE (radiography, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic examination).
  • ASTM standards as applicable to material requirements and QA codes.
  • Experience with diagnostic testing.
  • HS Diploma / GED and 5-7 years relevant experience
