About the role
- This position will require the retention of certification records.
- Assure that all outsourced calibration is traceable as per standards outlined by the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST).
Responsibilities
- Calibrate, adjust, and maintain all measuring devices, gages and test equipment.
- Collect and maintain calibration records electronically and in paper form (where applicable).
- Perform audits and inspections of suppliers, manufacturing processes, final product.
- Create NCR's and CAR's to communicate non-conforming product issue to the responsible people.
- Help write, review, and implement quality procedures.
- The Instrument Technician will also work with engineers and other technicians on basic design.
- Provide consulting support and/or assist in gauging and calibration audits.
- Identify and implement testing procedures for certified equipment.
- Implement programs for collection of data to be analyzed for continuous ongoing quality improvement.
Requirements
- Assist in other QA areas if required.
Skills
- Experience in quality control or quality assurance inspection.
- Experience in the electronic manufacturing industry.
- Ability to inspect electronic PCBA's including soldering, potting and conformal coat requirements.
- Ability to operate a Multimeter.
- Understand NDE (radiography, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic examination).
- ASTM standards as applicable to material requirements and QA codes.
- Experience with diagnostic testing.
- HS Diploma / GED and 5-7 years relevant experience
