About the role

  • The homesite for this position will be Palmerston & District Hospital.
  • The Respiratory Therapist makes decisions and accepts responsibility for all aspects of Respiratory patient care in accordance with Departmental, Hospital(s) and Legislative Standards that govern the profession.
  • The Respiratory Therapist is primarily responsible in a clinical role for the assessment, treatment, education and management of patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Requirements

  • Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Approved School
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience with all aspects of core competencies within Respiratory Therapist role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice
  • Current Certificate of Competence with CRTO
  • Current BCLS and NRP essential.
  • Good working knowledge of related hospital processes, procedures and policies (i.e. Code of Ethics, Occupational Health and Safety)
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

Nice to have

  • Satisfactory performance and attendance required
  • Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
  • Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • $46.35 - $54.22 per hour
