About the role
- The Behavioral Health Nurse is responsible for supporting the mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs of guests within NHF recuperative care and supportive housing programs.
Responsibilities
- Observe, document, and report changes in mental status, mood, behaviors, or emotional well-being.
- Support guests experiencing anxiety, depression, psychosis, trauma responses, substance use challenges, or behavioral crises.
- Medication Management Support in monitoring prescribed medications in accordance with physician orders and NHF protocols.
- Safety & Compliance Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
- Support a safe environment by identifying behavioral risks and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Employees are expected to: Maintain professional boundaries with guests and staff.
- Support NHF's mission, values, and culture.
Requirements
- Required: Active California LVN or RN License in good standing.
- BSN Minimum of 2 years nursing experience.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to respond quickly during emergencies or behavioral incidents.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
