About the role

  • The Behavioral Health Nurse is responsible for supporting the mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs of guests within NHF recuperative care and supportive housing programs.

Responsibilities

  • Observe, document, and report changes in mental status, mood, behaviors, or emotional well-being.
  • Support guests experiencing anxiety, depression, psychosis, trauma responses, substance use challenges, or behavioral crises.
  • Medication Management Support in monitoring prescribed medications in accordance with physician orders and NHF protocols.
  • Safety & Compliance Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
  • Support a safe environment by identifying behavioral risks and escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Employees are expected to: Maintain professional boundaries with guests and staff.
  • Support NHF's mission, values, and culture.

Requirements

  • Required: Active California LVN or RN License in good standing.
  • BSN Minimum of 2 years nursing experience.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to respond quickly during emergencies or behavioral incidents.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
