Responsibilities
- This role in summary Our Greenville facility is hiring a Metrology Technician to develop, evaluate, and maintain the sophisticated calibration systems used to measure physical and chemical phenomena.
- Develop, evaluate, and maintain sophisticated calibration systems.
- Conduct process audits (Layered Process Audits) and perform root cause analysis (5W+1H, 5 Whys) to ensure quality compliance and defect prevention.
- Perform analytical tests on raw materials and finished products (e.g., purity, particle size, hardness).
- Direct engineering, quality, and laboratory teams in the design and selection of approved measurement standards.
- Perform general maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of production and facility equipment, including electrical, mechanical, CNC, PLC, and robot automation.
Requirements
- Lifting & Mobilit y: Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds (with or without assistance).
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and electrical/mechanical schematics.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds (with or without assistance).
Nice to have
- Minimum of five (5) years of documented, combined experience in Metrology, CMM Programming, or Industrial Maintenance/Skilled Trades in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and electrical/mechanical schematics.
- Demonstrated experience with CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS) and various precision measurement tools.
- Working knowledge of industrial maintenance, including troubleshooting PLC logic (e.g., Allen Bradley), VFDs, CNC, and 480V electrical systems.
- Ability to apply statistical analysis and execute Measurement System Evaluations (MSE) and Gage R&R studies.
- Preferred skills and experiences An Associate Degree in a technical or engineering discipline is strongly preferred.
- Completion of a four-year apprenticeship, State Journeyman Card in a relevant trade, or ASQ Certified Quality Technician is highly desirable.
