About the role
- The Inventory Planner is responsible for controlling the management of raw material and finished goods inventory within the manufacturing and warehouse facility.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy between system records and physical stock.
Responsibilities
- This role ensures a continuous and efficient flow of raw materials and finished goods to support production schedules and service demand while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.
- The Inventory Planner will collaborate closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure inventory is accurate and controlled systematically.
- Identify and communicate obsolete, outdated, or slow-moving inventory and drive to disposition.
- Collaborate with quality regarding red tag or off-spec material to ensure adequate segregation and disposition.
- Manage and dispose of obsolete or slow-moving inventory.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a supply chain, inventory planning, or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and financial models.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).

Nice to have
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels, turn rates, and on-hand quantities to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
- Ensure inventory is managed according to LIFO/FIFO requirements
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory counts and records.
- Research shipping errors for root cause and RMA process control.
- Ensure inventory records are synchronized across business systems.
- Provide regular reports and updates on inventory status, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory management processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Research to find the root cause of discrepancies and report to management for implementation of preventative actions.
Compensation
- $56,000-$77,000
