- What are the responsibilities of a Compliance Engineer at Ciena?
Responsibilities
- Work closely with test partners during the execution of compliance test programs to demonstrate compliance and obtain reports/certifications.
- Assist sales and field support personnel with customer issues related to non-compliance, bid proposals/responses and conformity assessment.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of commercial standards/specifications in the telecom networking space: Telcordia GR-63-CORE, Telcordia GR-1089-CORE, Telcordia GR-3108, Telcordia GR-487, ETSI EN 300 019-X-Y, ETSI EN 300 132-Y
- Working knowledge of various country approvals, regulatory marks and homologation processes.
- Familiarity of global/international
Nice to have
- External test facilities
- Familiarity with communication protocols (OTN, Ethernet, SONET, Fiber Channel) is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- ~ 7 years' experience minimum
- Excellent Communications, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are essential.
- Experience with Telcordia specifications
- Experience with compliance testing
Compensation
- The salary range for this role is $77, 500 - $164, 500
- Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.

- Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
