About the role

  • The Psychologist provides doctoral level integrated behavioral health services as a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) and functions as a key member of the primary care medical team.
  • The BHC abides by guidelines and expectations specific to the clinic in which they provide patient care.
  • Services will be provided in the Ambulatory Care Services (ACS) clinic(s) with a focus on therapeutic interventions across the lifespan.

Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree in psychology from an accredited school Required
  • 1-3 years One year of postdoctoral experience Required
  • State Board of Psychologist Examiners Required and
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
  • PSY-Licensed Psychologist - State Board of Psychologist Examiners Required and
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
  • Ability to participate as a faculty member with the Division of Medicine and provide teaching and supervision as needed for the psychology internship training program through the Department of Psychiatry.

Skills

  • Knowledge of patient populations' cultural, religious, ethnic, and social systems in interactions, care planning, and education.
  • Knowledge of medical terms, abbreviations, diagnoses, treatment, and prognosis.
  • Skill in providing care appropriate to the age of the patients served within the clinic setting.
  • Ability to respond to feedback and incorporate it into practice.
  • Ability to respond to trauma or psychiatric emergency including writing involuntary mental health holds.
  • Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record preferred.
  • Conduct brief diagnostic screening of patients using evidence-based assessments and screening tools. (10%)

Compensation

  • $117,000.00 - $139,800.00 / yr
