About the role
- Form Energy is hiring a Staff Electrical Engineer to impact development and validation of our groundbreaking battery technology.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the full lifecycle of PCBA design - from requirements generation, component selection, schematic & layout development, design release through vendor DFM, bring up, verification, configuration management, sustaining
- Ensure PCBA designs meet safety, reliability, and compliance standards for high-power and hazardous systems
- Create requirements, DFMEA/CFMEA, electrical block diagrams, simulations, analysis, schematics, layouts, bring-up/test plans, and 8 Discipline (8D) reports
- Work cross functionally with System Engineering, Mechanical/Electro-Mechnical, Firmware/Software, & Test/Verification teams to define, design, & test PCBAs and resolve Electrical System related issues
- Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of released PCBA designs
- Document Design Concepts, Architecture, Block Diagrams, Bring-Up/Test Results, Root Cause Investigations, and Decision Matrices

Requirements
- Proficiency in PCBA design ECAD SW Altium or equivalent
- Strong understanding of safety and compliance considerations in high-power and/or chemical environments
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience (battery or energy storage systems experience is a plus)
- OR Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
