About the role

  • Form Energy is hiring a Staff Electrical Engineer to impact development and validation of our groundbreaking battery technology.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the full lifecycle of PCBA design - from requirements generation, component selection, schematic & layout development, design release through vendor DFM, bring up, verification, configuration management, sustaining
  • Ensure PCBA designs meet safety, reliability, and compliance standards for high-power and hazardous systems
  • Create requirements, DFMEA/CFMEA, electrical block diagrams, simulations, analysis, schematics, layouts, bring-up/test plans, and 8 Discipline (8D) reports
  • Work cross functionally with System Engineering, Mechanical/Electro-Mechnical, Firmware/Software, & Test/Verification teams to define, design, & test PCBAs and resolve Electrical System related issues
  • Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of released PCBA designs
  • Document Design Concepts, Architecture, Block Diagrams, Bring-Up/Test Results, Root Cause Investigations, and Decision Matrices

Requirements

  • Proficiency in PCBA design ECAD SW Altium or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of safety and compliance considerations in high-power and/or chemical environments

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience (battery or energy storage systems experience is a plus)
  • OR Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
