Conducts periodic safety audits and building evacuation drills in accordance with Texas state law.
Oversees the College's Building Responder Program.
Maintains records of emergency preparedness training, drills, inspections, certifications, and compliance activities.
Maintains emergency preparedness equipment and supplies and coordinates inspections and replacement as needed.
Assists in developing emergency response procedures, continuity planning, and departmental emergency action plans.
Manages departmental databases of all police and emergency preparedness equipment and helps ensure that all equipment is properly maintained.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed; willing to travel throughout the college district using own means of reliable transportation.

Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound.
Occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
Ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes.
Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
At least two (2) years of experience in safety or emergency management required.

In addition, subject to a federal background check.
Must have or qualify for a valid Texas driver's license, proof of liability insurance.
CPR and First Aid Instructor certification is preferred.
Must successfully complete these courses within six (6) months of hire.
National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training IS100, IS200, IS700, IS800, ICS300 and ICS400, is preferred.
Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
