About the role
- They will monitor current and impending changes to tax regulation and make the appropriate updates to policies and strategies.
- The ideal candidate is single minded in their pursuit of ensuring compliance and achieves this goal through optimizing reporting procedures and driving the successful performance of the tax function.
- This role will be reporting to Corporate Controller.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and manage the preparation and review (including for SOX compliance documentation purposes) company federal and state tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms.
- Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal, state and international taxes.
- Manage relationship with third party consulting firm who is currently assisting with miscellaneous tax compliance initiatives and tax returns.
- Plan for and develop overall tax returns and business tax and compliance filings calendar and coordinate timing and inputs from accounting team and management.
- Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
- Provide support with various internal audits and special tax related projects.
- Natera takes cyber crimes seriously, and will collaborate with law enforcement authorities to prosecute any related cyber crimes.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a tax manager in public accounting.
- Familiarity with U.S. federal, state and local reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with international taxation in withholding and VAT taxation.
- Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
- Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
- Extensive individual and corporate tax knowledge.
- Proficient with the following software/tools: Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word), Outlook, gSuite (GMail, Sheets, Hangouts).
- Ability to prepare and deliver compelling presentations to others of varied cultural perspectives and levels of organizational responsibility.
- Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues, staff and external contacts, and to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a professional team environment.
Nice to have
- Have a current CPA license preferred.

- $143,600 - $179,000 USD
