About the role

Responsibilities

  • Student Support Specialist 3
  • Student Support Services
  • Performs due diligence review, research, or referrals regarding complaints or possible violations related to the ADA.
  • Meets with students to determine current accessibility needs requiring accommodations and provides ongoing support for the duration of their academic career.
  • Work collaboratively with high schools, community colleges, universities, Vocational Rehabilitation and other community agencies to provide ongoing support for students.
  • Conduct presentations, develop programming, and engage with various departments and agencies in order to ensure collaborative support for students with disabilities.
  • Maintain confidential files and records.
  • Support and participate in spirit, pride, and tradition initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field
  • Experience working with students taking in-person and online courses.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders in and outside the University.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills related to analysis and determining solutions.
  • Work performed is subject to extended periods of sitting and standing and may be required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Compensation

  • $60,000 per year
