About the role

  • How You'll Contribute The Storytelling team works to expand the organization's impact through journalism, photography, film/video, web content, mapping, and data visualization.
  • As one of the largest funders to individual storytellers in this work, it also identifies key grantmaking, and programmatic opportunities with creative talent.
  • Reporting to Explorer in Residence for Photo Camp, the Production Manager, Photo Camp is responsible for ensuring day-to-day execution of the Photo Camp program.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Staff Volunteer Logistics Assistants.
  • Support the Photo Camp team's priority of documenting Production, Logistics, Staffing and Budget details on our teams' Production Brief and Airtable systems.
  • 7 day Photo Camps off campus. Serve as the NGS contact between the students, community liaisons, and partners for each Photo Camp.
  • Hybrid - At the Society, we believe in the advantages of coming together to build community, mentor and learn from colleagues, and connect more deeply with our mission.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support the overall needs of the program.
  • Provide on-the-ground logistics support and event production during selected National Geographic Photo Camps.
  • Serve as the NGS contact between the students, community liaisons, and partners for each Photo Camp.

Requirements

  • Extensive travel required to domestic and international 5
  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, communications, or related field.
  • High degree of proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Airtable, and Keynote applications
  • Extensive travel required to domestic and international 5 - 7 day Photo Camps off campus.

Compensation

  • Our compensation structure and transparent pay philosophy are based on industry-specific market data for similar-sized nonprofit organizations.
  • The salary range for this position accounts for a wide range of factors including but not limited to organizational need; specific skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and more.
  • At the National Geographic Society, individuals are typically hired at or near the starting point of the salary range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
  • The salary range for this position is $76,950.00 - $81,000.00.
