Responsibilities

  • Job Summary / Purpose The Senior System Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and ongoing support of the organization's systems and infrastructure.
  • This role ensures the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of enterprise systems while partnering with IT teams and business stakeholders to support operational and strategic objectives.
  • and Duties The System Engineer collaborates with Central IT teams, including Network, Security, Service Desk, and Application Support, as well as internal business partners and third-party vendors.
  • This role may provide guidance and technical support to junior staff and serve as an escalation point for complex system-related issues.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server and/or Linux).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Familiarity with system monitoring, patch management, and backup/recovery solutions.
  • Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or similar).

Nice to have

  • Experience working in a large enterprise or centralized IT environment.
  • Knowledge of Security best practices, compliance standards, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, SCCM, Intune).
  • Familiarity with containerization or modern infrastructure technologies.
  • ITIL or similar service management framework experience.
  • These functions are the fundamental job duties required for successful performance.
