About the role

  • Job Description: This position is a Hybrid role based in Central Ohio, working in our Central Ohio office.

Responsibilities

  • As Pre-Construction and Design Manager, you are responsible for leading pre-construction efforts on a development pipeline valued in excess of $50 million.
  • This position is the Owner's lead staff person managing the Architect, Consultant, and General Contractor relationships during the design phase of the development process.
  • This includes managing procurement strategies, facilitating contract negotiations, and working with internal stakeholders to align project design with available resources.
  • The position is also responsible for working with project Developers to prepare conceptual designs and budgets for funding applications, and for ensuring compliance with all funder design requirements following an award.
  • Additionally, this position will assist in completing the construction underwriting process with financial partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent architecture, construction experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pre-construction management, preferably in the field of multi-family housing.
  • Qualified candidates for this position offer:
  • Education/Certification: LEED for Homes Accreditation preferred but not required
  • Skills/Abilities:
  • Well organized
  • able to manage and prioritize projects/tasks
  • Ability to create and effectively manage multiple budgets and schedules
  • Ability to provide and manage self-created project tracking and analysis documentation

Skills

  • Well organized; able to manage and prioritize projects/tasks;
  • Ability to work well with various stakeholders in order to gain consensus and provide positive outcomes;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project and Excel, with a strong preference for proficiency in Access;
  • Must be willing and able to travel 15% to housing sites.
