About the role
- Under the supervision of a credentialed Physician, assists in cardiac Cath lab procedures and EP procedures while maintaining a sterile field.
- Assists with care of critically ill patients.
- The scope of care includes age group adolescent thru geriatric.
Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for own personal and professional development.
- Maintains sterile technique throughout invasive procedures.
- Performs and rotates through functions of scrub, circulating (not administering medications), and monitoring positions.
- Demonstrates the ability to operate/maintain specialized equipment.
- Performs and documents daily operational functions on procedure room equipment on designated documentation form.
- Performs special projects/duties as requested and according to established time frames.
Requirements
- Minimum Experience: One (1) year work experience in area of registry or license.
- Ability to operate technical equipment
- Prepares for procedure in terms of sterile supplies required.
- Assists the Physician during the specialized procedure as evidenced by knowledge of selected equipment, selection and care of catheters, guidewires, and other necessary supplies.
- If credentialed, has ability to deploy vascular closure devices using proper sterile technique.
- Ensures that required pre-, intra-, and post- procedure documentation is present and accurate when documenting in employee EMR.
