About the role
- We are looking for a Solutions Architect - Managed Services to join our Elastic Platform Operations (EPO) team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners across sales, engineering, and support, as well as client stakeholders including executives, to align platform strategies and roadmaps with business goals and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Partner with practice and account leaders to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously, preventing resource overruns, maximizing platform ROI, and reinforcing phData's Operational Maturity Framework with clients.
- Support pre-sales and scoping efforts as needed by partnering with sales and practice leadership to shape viable managed services solutions that balance technical feasibility, risk, and client value.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience architecting, designing, implementing, and managing cloud-native data platforms and solutions, ideally in a consulting or managed services environment.
- Deep expertise with modern enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, and Azure SQL Data Warehouse, including strong skills in performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL and SQL-based workloads, including writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines and tooling (e.g., Bitbucket, GitHub).
- Hands-on experience with data integration and ingestion tools such as AWS Data Migration Services, Azure Data Factory, Matillion, Fivetran, or Spark.
- Ability to describe specific engineering tasks completed with AI assistance.
- Experience delivering and managing multiple concurrent customer engagements in a professional services or consulting environment, ensuring timely delivery and optimized operations.
- Ability to serve as a trusted advisor on data platform strategy, helping clients navigate technical trade-offs to meet business goals.
Nice to have
- Snowflake SnowPro Core certification or equivalent cloud/data platform certifications.
- Experience using Python for task automation, tooling, and operational efficiency in cloud-native environments.
- Hands-on experience with automated database deployment and CI/CD frameworks such as Flyway or Liquibase.
- Advanced degrees or additional relevant certifications in data, cloud, or software engineering disciplines.
- This role is based in the US and operates primarily in Central and Eastern time zones.
- Some flexibility may be required to collaborate across time zones with colleagues and clients.
