About the role
- Using advanced optics, image sensors and artificial intelligence software Cognex vision and ID systems capture an image then analyze it to make sense of what's being seen.
- The technician will work closely with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure test systems are assembled, maintained, and documented to the highest quality standards.
- The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in electro-mechanical assembly, electrical troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Build, upgrade, modify, and repair test equipment and automated test machines.
- Build and modify cables, wire harnesses, and electrical assemblies for test equipment.
- Perform testing, debugging, and validation of test systems before deployment.
- Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), electrical schematics, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Support shipping and logistics activities related to test equipment.
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Support inspection activities using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other precision measurement equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical training/certification.
- 2-5 years of experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician, Test Technician, or related role.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings.
- Proficiency using hand and power tools.
- Experience working in an electronics or engineering lab environment.
- Experience with electronic test equipment, including:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with laboratory and machine shop equipment.
Nice to have
- Proficiency with SolidWorks.
- Experience operating machine shop equipment, including:
- Experience troubleshooting printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Experience with SAP requisitions and inventory processes.
- Experience with 3D printers and additive manufacturing technologies.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, test engineering, or production environments.

Compensation
- A reasonable estimate of the hourly pay range for this role is $20 USD - $28/h USD.
