About the role

  • Join our team as a Service Vehicle Operator and be the hero our AAA members rely on when they need help most.
  • You'll respond to service calls, assist stranded motorists with services like jump-starts, tire changes, and lockouts, and safely tow vehicles when needed.
  • This role combines hands-on problem solving, customer care, and safe driving, all while working independently on the road.

Responsibilities

  • Verify AAA membership and deliver outstanding customer service during every interaction.
  • Maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
  • Utilize tablets and electronic devices to manage calls, update service requests, and access towing procedures.
  • Accurately document daily activities, service calls, vehicle logs, and receipts.
  • Maintain DOT certification and an acceptable driving record.
  • Support community and special AAA events as needed.
  • By continuing to invest in more advanced technology, pursuing innovative products, and hiring a highly skilled workforce, AAA continues to build upon its heritage of providing quality service and helping our members enjoy life's journey through insurance, travel, financial services, and roadside assistance.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to successfully complete AAA training programs.
  • If employed in Illinois, possession of a valid Illinois C-Non CDL driver's license is required
  • Experience operating wheel-lift, flatbed, or dolly towing equipment.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Every applicant offered employment within The Auto Club Group will be required to consent to a background and drug screen based on the requirements of the position.
  • Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid state driver's license with minimal driving infractions/incidents.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening, motor vehicle record review, criminal background check, and DOT physical examination. (pre-employment and ongoing).
  • Comfortable using GPS, mobile technology, tablets, and electronic applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret roadside service procedures and member benefits.
  • Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork.

Compensation

  • Hourly rates starting at $22.50 per hour

  • ACG utilizes a geographic pay differential as part of the base salary compensation program.
  • Pay ranges outlined in this posting are based on the various ranges within the geographic areas which ACG operates.
