About the role

The Motorman is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment on the floatel alongside in Canada.

Maintain proper operating parameters and optimize equipment performance.
Monitor fuel consumption and implement measures to maximize fuel efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment, such as lubrication, cleaning, and filter changes.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

1-2 years of previous experience as a Motorman or in a similar role within the maritime industry, preferably onboard a cruise ship or other passenger vessel
Basic knowledge of engine operations, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical equipment.
Ability to clear a drug and alcohol test prior to hiring and potential random tests throughout employment, with prior notice
Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
STCW Reg. III/4 rating forming part of a watch in the engine room
STCW Reg. VI/1 safety familiarization, basic training, and instruction for all seafarers
STCW Reg. VI/2, competence in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats
STCW Reg. VI/6 security-related training and instruction for all seafarers
STCW Crowd management training
Understanding of safety regulations and procedures in a maritime or offshore environment.
Fluent communication in English
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
