About the role

  • Attend regular meetings with Project managers and Project coordinators on the financial status of projects.
  • Ensure timely project reviews are performed, in preparation for month-end close.
  • Review estimates at completion for both revenue and cost, for proper revenue recognition at month-end.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project accounting support and oversight on a portfolio of projects with multiple Project Managers.
  • Review proper allocation of all costs and expenses to projects, and perform re-allocations as needed.
  • Review contract documents, client POs and backup documentation to ensure compliance with audit and internal controls.
  • Perform and support project-related control procedures.

Requirements

  • Assist the Project Accounting manager with project related reserves as required (i.e. Estimate at Completion adjustments, Accounts Receivable, Work in Progress, Legal claims) and proformas.
  • Perform month end close accrual entries and adjustments as required.
  • Possess strong understanding of revenue and costing methodologies and provide expertise to the Project team.
  • Train and educate project managers on the use of the ERP, to import and update required data for reporting.
  • Capabilities and Experience Required Minimum three years of project accounting experience in construction industry.
