About the role

  • Asurion is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Corporate Tax team.
  • This role is ideal for someone with international tax experience, though strong U.S. tax compliance experience (including complex calculations and reporting) is also highly valued.
  • The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a dynamic environment, partnering cross‑functionally, and applying tax technical knowledge to real‑world business activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support U.S. international income tax compliance, including preparation, review, and documentation of positions related to:
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Accounting, and external advisors to ensure accurate tax reporting and audit‑ready documentation
  • Support responses to tax authority inquiries and audits, including income tax, transfer pricing, and indirect tax matters
  • Contribute to the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of tax processes, controls, and data flows
  • Manage and develop members of the Philippines‑based tax team, including delegating work, reviewing deliverables, and collaborating effectively across time zones to meet deadlines
  • Successfully assumes ownership of key U.S. international tax compliance workstreams, with limited rework and strong audit support
  • Develops a working understanding of Asurion's global legal entity structure, intercompany flows, and international tax profile
  • Becomes a trusted partner to Accounting and Finance during provision and compliance cycles

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in U.S. international tax compliance, corporate tax, or technical tax roles
  • Experience working with tax provision processes and financial reporting teams
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tax concepts to non‑tax stakeholders

Nice to have

  • Broader international tax experience supporting U.S. multinationals
  • Experience with transfer pricing compliance or OECD‑related reporting
  • Previous public accounting (Big 4 or large national firm) experience
  • Familiarity with tax compliance and reporting systems (e.g., ONESOURCE, Microsoft Dynamics, Onestream, Orbitax, or similar platforms)
  • Demonstrated interest in tax technology, automation, data management, and AI‑enabled tools
  • This role may involve limited domestic or international travel (generally less than 5%)
