About the role
- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Traveling Field Controls Technician to perform the testing and commissioning of Building Management Systems (BMS) on construction projects, according to specifications.
- This role applies knowledge of various building trades such as electrical, mechanical, telecommunications, and information systems networks to computer-based control systems, building automation and environmental control energy equipment in commercial and industrial buildings.
- They collaborate with customers, engineers, and contractors on project start‐up and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Independently interpret blueprints and other technical documents.
- Perform functional testing of the specified sequence of operations to ensure proper operation of the control equipment Troubleshooting to ensure proper performance of all field devices, controllers, and associated wiring.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in installing, configuring, and commissioning BMS systems.
- In-depth knowledge of BMS protocols, hardware, software, and programming languages to troubleshoot complex system issues and coach more junior team members.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- OSHA 10 certification obtained within the past two (2) years is required.
- If certification is not current or has not been completed, OSHA 10 training will be provided and must be successfully completed within the first week of employment.
- Agencies must have a signed agreement in place prior to submitting any candidate.
Nice to have
- Relevant certifications or technical training is preferred but not mandatory.
