Responsibilities
- Performs endoscopy procedure set up, including physician preference and expectations. Tests equipment for proper functioning and availability. Assists the RN/Physician with proper positioning of the patient.
- Maintains standards and principles of asepsis. Demonstrates proper aseptic technique in handling equipment and supplies. Handles, cleans, and disinfects scopes properly.
- Documents patient condition, assessment findings, and physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.
- Initiates emergency resuscitative measures according to adult resuscitation and advanced life support protocols.
- Maintains confidentiality as well as providing care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient's and family's diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights
- Performs endoscopy procedure set up, including physician preference and expectations.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing. (ADN) Required
- Previous experience in an acute care setting.
- Must have ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.
- Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation in good standing with South Carolina Board of Nursing Required
- Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire.
- Recertification every two years is Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire.
- As an RN for Endoscopy, being on-call will be required.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Preferred
- Master's Degree in Nursing. (MSN) Preferred
- Endoscopy or Operating Room (OR) experience.
Skills
- Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.
- Must be proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination.
- Must possess excellent verbal communication skills.
- Registered Nurse
- South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation in good standing with South Carolina Board of Nursing Required
- Basic Life Support Certified
- American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified
