About the role

  • The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide care within the inpatient, OR, and ambulatory settings.
  • The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.
  • Provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for pediatric neurosurgery patients, with a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and a commitment to safe, quality care

Responsibilities

  • We support numerous multidisciplinary programs, including Head Shape, Neuro-Oncology, Epilepsy, Fetal Concerns, Spasticity, and Spina Bifida.

Requirements

  • DEA registration (if required for the position)
  • Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
  • Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.

  • Wisconsin RN Licensure
  • Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
  • Certification Requirements
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization
  • Physician Assistant

Nice to have

  • Previous APP Pediatric Surgical Specialties and/or Neurosciences experience preferred.
