Responsibilities

  • Lead the growth and market presence of Optimus SBR's Diversified Industries Group across private-sector industries, including real estate, manufacturing, mining, quarrying, oil and gas, construction, wholesale and retail trade, professional services, transportation and warehousing, and power and utilities as examples.
  • Serve as a senior market-facing leader, building and deepening trusted relationships with executives, senior leaders, and key decision-makers across existing and prospective client accounts.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new client leads by leveraging industry relationships, market insight, referral networks, and Optimus SBR's broader capabilities.
  • Own and grow strategic client accounts, including account planning, relationship mapping, opportunity identification, pipeline development, and long-term account growth.
  • Lead business development activities from initial client conversation through opportunity shaping, proposal development, pricing strategy, presentations, negotiations, and close.
  • Provide senior advisory support to clients navigating growth, operational change, market expansion, cost optimization, organizational effectiveness, technology-enabled transformation, and business model evolution.
  • Lead large, complex, and high-profile client engagements, ensuring strong delivery quality, executive alignment, project economics, client satisfaction, and measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality executive-level deliverables, including strategy documents, transformation roadmaps, operating model recommendations, governance models, implementation plans, and board or executive presentations.
  • Act as a thought leader for the Diversified Industries Group by contributing to service offerings, market positioning, insights, collateral, and practice-building initiatives.
  • Build internal capability by identifying market needs, shaping offerings, mentoring teams, and supporting the development of consulting talent within the practice.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading business development pursuits, including opportunity identification, proposal strategy, pricing, client presentations, and pursuit leadership.
  • Experience advising senior executives on complex business challenges related to growth, transformation, operations, strategy, performance improvement, organizational effectiveness, or implementation.
  • Ability to balance market development, client relationship management, sales leadership, and project delivery responsibilities.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in management consulting, advisory services, strategy, transformation, operations, professional services, business development, account leadership, or a related client-facing leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success building and growing senior client relationships, including experience developing new leads, expanding accounts, and converting opportunities into meaningful consulting engagements.
  • Strong network, credibility, or demonstrated ability to build relationships across private-sector industries such as manufacturing, real estate, construction, energy, utilities, technology, transportation, retail, mining, professional services, or other diversified industries.
  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to influence, advise, and build trust with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Proven ability to lead complex client engagements, manage project economics, oversee delivery teams, and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong consulting toolkit, including problem structuring, facilitation, analysis, executive communication, stakeholder management, project leadership, and change leadership.
  • Entrepreneurial and commercially minded, with a strong interest in building a growing practice area and expanding Optimus SBR's market presence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop compelling client materials, proposals, and executive presentations.
  • Collaborative leadership style with a commitment to developing others and contributing to a positive, high-performance culture.
  • Required Education: Related university degree in business, commerce, economics, engineering, technology, operations, or another relevant field.
