About the role
- The Electro-Mechanical Engineer/Automation is a hands-on developer of automated production equipment used in our internal manufacturing processes.
- This position is located in Nashville, TN.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new equipment utilizing robotics and integration of HMI, PLC and application integration
- Design mechanical and electrical upgrades and improvements for production equipment utilizing in-house design as well as outside contractor partners for the design and fabrication of that equipment
- Recommend, plan and implement equipment upgrades to improve production efficiency and/or cost reductions
- Collaborate with product management, manufacturing, design engineering teams, and external design partners
- Provide design oversight and consultation to multiple development and support activities
- Develop protocols and provide for data acquisition from machine controllers
- Provide technical design support in developing and debugging automation equipment utilizing robots, HMIs, PLCs, and a variety of controls.
Requirements
- 3 or more years' experience with Electro-Mechanical Equipment and Controls technologies
- Good communication and interpersonal, ability to interact with all levels of management vendors.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical degree
- Experience with PLC ladder logic, analog signals, networking, wireless communications, HMI panel programming and Data Acquisition, and vision system integration
- Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in programming and troubleshooting of machine control processes
- Demonstrated expertise managing machine design projects from concept through deployment
- Good communication and interpersonal, ability to interact with all levels of management vendors. Capable of working in a team environment
Nice to have
- Experience with Solid Works preferred AutoCAD mechanical
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing a plus
