About the role

  • Assists in the development, review, and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure ongoing survey readiness.
  • Participates in routine safety rounding, documentation compliance reviews, and identification of environmental risks.

Responsibilities

  • Skills to establish and maintain good rapport with government authorities.
  • Manages life safety and environment of care standards with matters pertaining to fire and life safety.
  • Manages hazardous materials/ chemical waste management program.
  • Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.

Requirements

  • Required - High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years' experience in a safety related field OR 1 year experience in a safety related field with a 2 year degree
  • Required - Valid Louisiana driver's license
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Submits required reports for Senior Staff Meeting, EOC Safety Committee as directed by emergency preparedness leadership.
  • Other related duties as required.
