About the role

  • This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based in our New York/Manhattan office (Tuesday through Thursday) and work fully remotely on Mondays and Fridays each week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 3+ data scientists setting technical direction and priorities, managing performance, and developing careers, including hiring as the team grows.
  • Partner with Data Science Product Managers, Engineering, Product, and Business leadership to shape and deliver data science initiatives aligned with broader organizational strategy.
  • Translate ambiguous business and partner problems into well-scoped data science and AI solutions including work breakdown, effort estimation, and delivery planning.
  • Build and ship LLM-powered and agentic AI systems in production, owning them from prototype through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Own technical decision-making for your team, including model and agent architecture, tooling, observability, evaluation strategies, and operational best practices.
  • Drive a culture of experimentation, measurement, and iteration by defining success metrics and tracking impact over time.
  • Represent data science in cross-functional and partner-facing discussions, including presenting solutions and progress directly to external stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM-based and agentic AI systems, with fluency in orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Mastra, OpenAI Agents SDK, or similar tools.
  • someone who can architect and build alongside their team while also providing leadership, direction, and mentorship.
  • You will contribute directly to solution design, author and review production code, scope engagements, and engage directly with partners while simultaneously developing your team's capabilities and scaling impact through others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree + 8 years of experience OR Master's Degree + 6 years of experience OR PhD + 4 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with the broader modern AI stack, including large language model providers (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini, Claude) and cloud AI infrastructure such as AWS Bedrock AgentCore.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code is a plus.
