About the role

  • The AGC offers proactive, timely, and solution-oriented legal advice to a wide range of university stakeholders.
  • The role interacts with university constituents, members of the legal profession, outside counsel, external agencies and others to ensure the university operates within legal and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the General Counsel, the AGC anticipates, researches, and identifies legal issues in order to develop legal strategies and solutions in matters involving the Universities activities and operations.

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Ohio, or the ability to obtain licensure in Ohio within 12 months of hire.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • More than 5 years of progressive legal experience, with responsibility advising complex organizations, including experience relevant to higher education.
