  • The Maintenance Fabrication Technician specializes in the fabrication, repair, and modification of stainless-steel components using sanitary welding techniques to support plant operations and maintenance activities.
  • Perform sanitary TIG welding on stainless steel components to meet hygienic standards (e.g., smooth, crevice-free welds).
  • Maintain fabrication tools and equipment in safe working conditions.
  • Collaborate with maintenance technicians and engineers to develop solutions for equipment issues.
  • Document fabrication work and maintain records for traceability.

Requirements

  • Overtime may be required*
  • 2+ years of experience in fabrication with sanitary welding experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding for stainless steel, including sanitary weld standards (AWS D18.1 or equivalent).
  • Proven computer skills with intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, maintenance work orders, and schematics.
  • Fabricate custom stainless-steel parts and assemblies for machinery and plant infrastructure.
  • Operate welding equipment (TIG/MIG), cutting torches, grinders, and other stainless steel fabrication tools.
  • Polish and finish stainless steel surfaces to prevent contamination and ensure cleanability.
  • Assist in equipment installation, modification, and structural repairs using sanitary welding practices.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and OSHA compliance.

Compensation

  • The starting pay is $35.00/hr.
