About the role

  • The Senior Accountant 1 is responsible for helping to ensure the accuracy, completeness and appropriateness of general ledger transactions in accordance with US GAAP.
  • This position will participate in a variety of financial functions including month-end closing, financial reporting and other administrative functions.

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close process, including data entry, reconciliation of sub-ledgers to the general ledger, and maintenance of balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Manage prepaid reconciliations, including subscriptions, insurance and other prepaid accounts
  • Prepare and record payroll‑related journal entries and partner closely with the Payroll team to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures, and internal controls to maintain compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements
  • Perform special projects, financial analyses, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires the ability to read and interpret contractual terms to ensure all costs associated with contractual commitments are recorded in the financial statements during the appropriate accounting period.
  • Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.

  • You may be required to travel for up to 5% of your time.

Nice to have

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent with 5 years of accounts payable/accounting experience, preferably in life science
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, QuickBooks and/or NetSuite experience preferred
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to gather, analyze and interpret information for completeness and accuracy

Compensation

  • The salary range for this position is: $83,000 - $104,000.
  • In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting including additions, disposals, depreciation, and execution of the annual fixed asset inventory
