About the role
- The Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies that enhance organizational visibility and engagement.
- This role involves creating compelling content, managing projects of moderate complexity, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Campaign Development and Execution Plan, coordinate, and execute marketing campaigns to promote services, capabilities, and events, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Content Creation and Management Develop, edit, and manage marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, newsletters, press releases, and case studies, ensuring alignment with brand standards and organizational messaging.
- Create and optimize content for digital platforms, including websites, social media, and email campaigns, to drive engagement and awareness.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to produce technical and thought leadership content tailored to target audiences.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure timely delivery of campaign assets.
- Market Research and Strategy Support Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, competitors, and target audiences to inform marketing strategies and identify opportunities for growth.
- Analyze data and present findings to support decision-making and strategy development.
- Event Planning and Coordination Lead the planning and execution of events, including trade shows, webinars, and community outreach initiatives, ensuring all logistical details are managed effectively.
- Develop promotional materials and coordinate pre-event and post-event communication strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including partners, vendors, and media contacts, to support marketing initiatives.
- Administrative and Project Management Maintain marketing databases, including contact lists, project trackers, and content libraries, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with digital marketing tools.
Nice to have
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) or content management systems (CMS).
- Knowledge of social media platforms, scheduling tools, and analytics software.
- Familiarity with government contracting or defense industry marketing practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and interface with external stakeholders.
- Experience in event planning and coordination.
