About the role
- The Interconnections Planning Engineer will conduct interconnection studies for offshore wind, energy storage, public policy transmission, and other new clean energy projects.
- This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.
Responsibilities
- They will perform power-flow and short circuit analyses for substations, contribute to identifying local and system upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations, and organize developer site visits to Con Edison facilities.
- Additionally, they will participate in internal engineering support activities, interface with NYISO and merchant developers, and assess the impacts of new generation/transmission projects on the bulk electric system, developing recommended modifications for NYISO.
