About the role

  • Allen Control Systems (ACS) is a cutting-edge defense startup founded by two former Navy electrical engineers with a proven track record in robotics and software.
  • With an engineering-first culture, ACS values technical excellence and innovation.
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated mid-level full stack developer to join the Enterprise Applications team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-grade applications across the full stack.
  • Optimize and enhance existing software for efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Implement best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, unit testing, and documentation.
  • Build, maintain, and integrate enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, and third-party platforms via APIs and middleware.
  • Develop clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and help drive continuous improvement of development processes.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and security across all layers of the stack.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of professional experience in full stack software development.
  • Proficiency in at least on modern front-end framework (ex: React, Angular, or Vue.js)
  • Experience with relational databases (ex: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and writing complex queries.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines)

Nice to have

  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and agile development practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional experience in software development preferred.
