About the role

  • Primarily responsible for the overall safety, quality and productivity of the production areas ensuring on-time delivery while maintaining cost of goods sold (COGS) to budget plans.
  • Administer Company rules, regulations & safety policies, initiating and recommending corrective actions
  • Provide direction, and strength of Leadership, initiating communication and working cross functionally across all levels, collaborating between shifts/departments on a consistent basis.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the daily operation of assigned department(s), including the daily management and maintenance of staffing levels (direct/contract) and budget accountability to accomplish plant objectives in an effective and efficient manner
  • Actively analyze department performance against metrics and identify opportunity for continuous improvement. Creates, posts and communicates to ensure everyone understands their role in achieving plant commitments

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • Preference given to candidates with BS Degree
  • Provide necessary training and reinforcement to workforce to ensure they understand and can apply the skills required to produce quality products according to Greene, Tweed and customer requirements
  • Addresses issues and maintains availability to operators to answer questions as required
  • Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, serving as a positive role model to others and embracing standard work required
  • Employees will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by the Supervisor.
  • 5 years of previous manufacturing experience, including exposure to leading/directing the work of others
  • Ideal candidate will have 3 years' direct supervision experience in a manufacturing environment

Skills

  • Previous experience in a Lean manufacturing environment, focused on continuous improvement and High Performance Work teams desired
  • Strong communication skills required, including the ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels in the organization.
  • Metric driven/analytical problem solving experience required - root cause analysis/six sigma training a plus
