About the role

At PLNU, the Student Success Counselor plays a key role in guiding students through their academic journey, with a strong focus on enhancing retention and graduation rates.
As part of a collaborative team, this role requires both teamwork and the ability to work independently.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

This position provides personalized academic advising and support to a diverse caseload of adult, graduate, and professional students, helping them achieve success in alignment with the university's mission and goals.
Support campus-wide activities such as orientation and graduation
Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational abilities

Bachelor's degree required
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, exercising professional judgment in sensitive situations
Ability to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone
Proficiency with data management, reporting, and technological tools
Exceptional communication skills across platforms (phone, email, virtual, and in-person)
Demonstrated ability to build rapport with diverse student populations and other departments within the university
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and follow-through
Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant
