About the role

  • Next, Haven-1 is expected to become the world's first commercial space station when it launches in 2027, followed by additional Haven modules.
  • Additionally, the company recently announced Vast Satellite, a high-power satellite product line leveraging its space station components and the heritage of Haven Demo.
  • This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle for assigned commodities/categories, from demand identification through fulfillment
  • Manage supply base against business KPI's and drive supplier improvement activities
  • Act as a voice for Supply Chain to inform and influence partner organizations to drive both strategic and tactical initiatives
  • Review and leverage contracts and Terms & Conditions, lead negotiations, and build defensible should-cost models
  • Coordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders such as Legal, Contracts, Finance, Planning, Operations,Program Management, Engineering, and Quality to effectively manage supplier performance in the best interests of Vast

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 2-4+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations
  • Experience supporting supplier selection and RFQ/RFP cycles, negotiations, and PO placement
  • Experience in a purchasing or sourcing role supporting aerospace, spaceflight, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments and complex systems

Nice to have

  • Exposure to manufacturing and/or aerospace supply chains strongly preferred
  • Preferred Skills & Experience:

Skills

  • Bachelors of science degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities with ambiguous instructions
  • Experience with electrical schematic reviews and electrical schematic capture software (Altium or similar)

Compensation

  • $88,806 - $126,061.20 USD
  • We calibrate level and compensation to the selected candidate's experience and demonstrated capability.
  • Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
  • Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package.
